Blogging Status: I’ve been doing this “blogging” thing since way back in August 2002, when I started a webpage called sweetpickle.com for the purpose of keeping in touch with friends who were studying abroad. Then I moved around here and there so my family encouraged me to keep it going so they could spy on me via the web (LOL). I updated to WordPress in Feb 2005, but you can see my ancient blogging in the journal archives. I also switched my photos to Flickr a couple years ago, but you can see the old photo blogging here.

Blurb: I hate spelling & don’t check my grammar on this blog, so don’t judge me :) After moving around several times (11 times in 10 years) including Cincinnati, OH and the close-in MD suburbs of Washington, DC, I settled back into my home area of Huntington, WV. I own my own home for the first time and share it with my amazing husband, Dan, our new baby boy, Sawyer Holden, and our dogs, Lucy & Stewie. As a new mom I’ve ventured into the land of breastfeeding, babywearing, and cloth diapering and LOVE all of it. I am a self-proclaimed geek who works, reads, loves computers, texts more then talks, and plays Jeopardy daily if I can. I love hanging out with my friends and family, doing random nothingness or whatever. I also love to travel when I get the chance and I’m constantly attempting to be crafty…do-it-yourself projects, painting, sewing, etc. I lack the natural talent though. I enjoy cooking, and finally am getting to do that more often now that I have a cooking partner. I love to garden, both flowers & veggies. I recycle everything I can and I’m generally a very earth conscious gal. I’m a passivist and dreamer who believes we could be living in a better world if we’d all try just a little harder. I hate SUVs and love my “earthy” car.

History: Raised in Wayne, WV. I was a very quiet girl who loved playing alone with her Barbies as much as riding her bike (the Pink Huffy), playing outside, and racing the neighborhood kids…who were all boys. I took ballet, baton, jazz, and tap classes until 5th grade. I broke my arm and got my glasses in 2nd grade. Traumatic year. I read a lot when I was little, especially Nancy Drew books. In 4th grade I began running track and in 5th grade I started playing basketball. I liked both a lot, but quit both in high school. In high school I also played volleyball for 2 years. I was on the flag corps for 3 years. I graduated high school and got a full academic scholarship to Marshall University. Stayed there for graduate school also. Next I pursued my doctorate for just one year, and now I am just a working woman.

    Occupation: Supervised Psychologist

Degree: Master of Arts in clinical psychology and Bachelor of Arts, psychology major & biology minor. Doctorate dropout, so it doesn’t count towards anything except my massive student loans.

Interests: My son, reading, movies, TV (The Office, Lost, Hell’s Kitchen, So You Think You Can Dance, and anything in HD), hanging out with my friends/co-workers, my family, discovering my future, shopping (especially online), computers, politics, hockey, football, basketball, UFC, cultures (especially European & Asian), attempting to keep houseplants alive, gardening, recycling, saving the planet by rarely using my A/C!, learning to paint & sew, photography, maintaining this website, music of almost all kinds.

Family: My mom & dad are Randy & Donna, and they are the best. My younger sister Becca is one of my best friends (Dan is the other!). She is a wonderful stay at home mom to my one & niece, Hannah Grace, who was born July 24, 2006. I have lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins too that I’m really close to. I think, if I count right, that I have 34 cousins. That doesn’t count their spouses.

Music: I love music, almost any kind. Some of my favorites are: Ani Difranco, Chicago, DMB, Fallout Boy, Fionna Apple, Gym Class Heros, HelloGoodbye, Kayne West, Jay-z, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, NOFX, Norah Jones, Outkast, Reel Big Fish, Coldplay, Steve Miller, Beastie Boys, Xavier Rudd, This Providence, Kate Nash, Julian Velard, tons of random 80’s/early 90’s music, and current hip-hop hits.

    Trivial Facts:
Annabel Lee is one of my favorite poems by Edgar Allen Poe.

lml is the “rock” sign made with the hands, I used to do that a lot when something is cool and became known for it (hence the screen name with “lml”).

Since moving out of my parents house in Feb 1999, I have lived in Huntington, Lavalette, Huntington again, Lavalette again, Cincinnati,OH, Huntington AGAIN, Riverdale, MD, Silver Spring, MD, Lavalette again, and now finally Huntington again (for a few years I hope).

I’ve started running & dancing again, two of my old passions.

I freak out and can not handle hearing people chew food, especially ice and other crunchy things.

    I have horrible road rage.

I am a computer geek who relies heavily on the internet for everything like communicating with friends & family, shopping, reading news, online yellow pages, maps & directions, hotel reservations, etc….and of course, maintaining this fascinating website.
